2023:

 

 

CHRISTMAS!  Thank you to everybody who  joined us at our Christmas Services and meetings.  We praise God for the amazing times we had together

 

 

 

 

AFTERNOON TEA – 18 of us enjoyed our Festive Afternoon Tea on Tuesday 5th December at Dobbies Garden Centre.

                             

 

FISH & CHIP SUPPER!!      31 of us enjoyed our fish & chip supper on Saturday 28th October with a Murder Mystery drama quiz performed by friends from Godmanchester Baptist Church.  We had a great time eating, quizzing and chatting!  A huge thank you to the actors from Godmanchester.

 

   

We had an amazing day today raising funds for MacMillan and meeting up with friends – some old, some new!!

We sold lots of cakes, bacon rolls, books, teas and coffees.   THANK YOU everybody for coming along and supporting this venture.

We raised an AMAZING £600.  THANK YOU.

Coronation weekend:

 

What an amazing weekend we had.  Firstly we were all able to witness (via the TV) the Coronation of King Charles III on the Saturday.  Then Sunday evening we had friends from St Andrews Church, Great Staughton and Little Staughton Baptist Church join us for our evening service when Councillor Stephen Cawley brought God’s message to us. 

Then on the Monday we had about 50+ visitors join us for lunch/afternoon tea in the Church.

God is good – praise Him.

 

 

 

 

PAUL JONES & FIONA HENDLEY

 

 

What an amazing evening we had with Paul & Fiona on Friday 21st April as they shared about their faith and sang to us.  We had about 75 people come along and what a blessed evening it was.  Thank you Lord – and thank you Paul & Fiona.

 

 

 

 

 

 

27th February 2023:  18 of us enjoyed a Fellowship Lunch together and used the opportunity to celebrate Joyce Jones’ 80th Birthday


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2022:

 

CHRISTMAS on Black Cat Radio!  This year Black Cat Radio recorded an hour of Christmas Carols in the Church here in  Perry.  Here is the recording of the programme which went on air Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  We hope you enjoy listening ….

 

 

 

We had a great time at the Macmillan Coffee Morning on Saturday 8th October.  Thank you to all those who came along and donated to this worthy cause.  Lots of cakes and bacon rolls were sold, as well as Christmas cards, teas and coffees.  It was a good time to meet up with ‘old’ friends as well as ‘new’ friends.  We raised an amazing £335.  THANK YOU everybody.

 

 

 

 

 

HARVEST:  Thank you everybody for your  generous gifts for our Harvest Display.  All goods have been taken to the St Neots Food Bank, together with a monetary donation.

 

 

 

ANN & HOWARD:  Sadly we had to say goodbye to Ann & Howard at the BBQ on 6th August as they move away to pastures new.  We pray that the Lord will guide them and bless them always.  We are thankful to the Lord for bringing them to the fellowship here in Perry and  for all their hard work, commitment and dedication over these past few years.  We love you both dearly but more importantly, we know the Lord loves you  and we pray He will guide you in the direction He wants your path to take.  “Taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him”  (Psalm 34 v 8)

               

 

 

JOHN & LINDA GAUGHAN:  We were pleased to welcome John & Linda Gaughan to the Church on Friday 10th June.  John was formerly a member of Herman’s Hermits and he and Linda sang to us and shared snippets of their life stories, in particular John’s journey from  being an alcoholic to a Church Minister in Yorkshire.  Thank you everybody for coming – we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

 

THE QUEEN’S PLATINUM JUBILEE 2022:

We were delighted to host an extended ‘Tea on the Green’ outside the Church on Saturday 4th June to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.  It was lovely to have so many people come along and join us, giving us the opportunity to see ‘old’ faces and welcome new ones! Thank you for coming, we had an amazing day.  Here’s some of the photos of the day:

 

 

2021:

Samaritans Purse: 

Some of us met together in November and filled 36 shoeboxes which were taken to Brittains Furniture store in St Neots to be added to the other shoe boxes filled by other Churches and groups.  Well done everybody and thank you for your support.

Macmillan Coffee Morning:

The Macmillan Coffee Morning held Saturday 23rd October at the Church was a huge success and raised an amazing £400.  Thank you to everybody for your support, providing cakes and coming along.  We sold £125 worth of cakes and £125 was raised in the kitchen through the sale of hot drinks and bacon rolls!  Plus some donations and sales of Jon’s books, all totalling up to a massive £400.  A huge THANK YOU!

Our Monthly ‘Drop-in’ has restarted – everybody welcome – see the ‘NEWS’ page for further information.

A glimpse into our new initiative of ‘Tea on the Green’ on Saturday 14th August when we enjoyed refreshments on the green outside the Church building with the community and ‘passers by’. We have enjoyed meeting together and with visitors since we started this new initiative but with the weather starting to cool down now, we will not hold anymore until the Spring 2022! But you are welcome to come along to the ‘Drop-in’ for a cuppa instead – the first Monday of each month!

Shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child:

Several of us met at the end of October to fill the shoe boxes to be sent to Samaritans Purse for their Operation Christmas Child project.  We completed an amazing 50 shoe boxes – well done and thank you everybody. The boxes were taken to Brittains Furniture store for collection.

Macmillan Coffee Morning 12 October 2019:

Harvest weekend 28-29 September 2019

We enjoyed a good weekend of ministry, fellowship  ….  and food at our Harvest Services, giving thanks to God for His goodness to us.

     

Induction Service for Rev Jon Magee – 3 August 2019

We give thanks to God for the wonderful Induction Service on 3rd August, when Rev David Taylor (Moderator) welcomed Jon and Joan into membership, Rev Beth Powney (Regional Minister for EBA) led Jon’s Induction to be the new Minister here in Perry and Rev Adrian Lloyd (friend of Jon’s from Bilston) gave the Word. 70 people attended the service and we followed the service with a light tea!!  We Praise God for His faithfulness to us all.

                

Trip on Monday 22 July

16 of us enjoyed our visit to the John Bunyan Museum, Bedford and followed this with a cream tea at Elstow Tea Garden, by Moot Hall.  What a wonderful afternoon we had!

              

Kairos Mission 2019                                                                                                   

This year we supported Kairos with their mission into Littlehey and, with Little Staughton Baptist Church,  provided almost 800 cookies for the residents and staff.  Wow, thank you so much everybody for making all these cookies!!   Please continue to pray for the work of Kairos.     

      

Shoeboxes for Samaritans Purse – Operation Christmas Child 2018:

A big THANK YOU to everybody who donated items for the shoeboxes and came along to church to help fill them.  We had a lovely afternoon and  filled 43 boxes – an amazing amount, slightly exceeding our target of 40.  Thank you so much for your support and generosity.  The boxes have now all been taken to one of the local collecting points (Brittains Furniture store in St Neots).    So, how many will we fill next year?  Last year it was 32, this year 43 ….. should we aim for 50 in 2019?  Why not come along next year and help us achieve our new target? THANK YOU.

MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING at the Church on Saturday 6th October – Thank you to everybody who came along, made cakes and gave donations.  We are very grateful for your support.  Despite the bad weather, we still raised £205  this year.  THANK YOU everybody!

Harvest Weekend – 22nd/23rd September:  Thank you to everybody for your Harvest gifts which have been taken to the St Neots Food Bank.

BBQ – Saturday 28th July 2018:  19 of us enjoyed a lovely afternoon of good food and fellowship.  Sadly it turned a little chilly into the evening but we all had a great time.

Friendship Circle Strawberry Tea – Monday 24th July 2018:  We all enjoyed a lovely tea of scones, cream, strawberry jam and, of course, strawberries!

                  

Ladies’ Breakfast – Saturday 7th July 2018:  Eight ladies came along to a ‘continental’ style buffet breakfast which we enjoyed sitting outside in the garden!  Such a lovely day of fellowship and ….. chatting!!

Men’s Breakfast – Saturday 19th May 2018:  Nine men came along to a full English breakfast, toast and croissants!  We had a great time of fellowship together and look forward to the next one ……!!

Roger relinquished his role as Moderator on 7th January 2018:  Thank you, Roger, for your ministry, fellowship, leading and loving care over these past three years.  We are grateful to you for your commitment and hard work – we shall miss you and look forward to your visits, which we trust will be frequent!  “Blessed be the tie that binds our hearts in Christian love ….”.  

          

Shoeboxes for Samaritans Purse – Operation Christmas Child 2017:

A huge thank you to everybody who came along to fill shoe boxes, for donating so many items and for bringing their own full shoe boxes.  We filled an amazing 32 boxes which have been taken to the local depot for distribution to needy children abroad.  THANK YOU.
